Casablanca Martini
3 strawberries, chopped and muddled
2 ounces lemon juice
3 ounces gin
1 ounce peppercorn tincture**
1/2 ounce simple syrup
lemon slice and cracked pepper for garnish
**To make the peppercorn tincture: Place 2 tablespoons peppercorns in 1 pint of vodka and let sit for up to 48 hours. Strain the peppercorns from the vodka and place in a sealed container. Will keep for up to 1 year.
Place the strawberries in a cocktail shaker and muddle. Add the other ingredients. Fill with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into a chilled martini glass. Add the lemon slice and cracked black pepper for garnish.
